the game. security will be tight. abc7 news reporter kira klapper joins us with the latest. >> good morning. win or lose is correct. let's hope it's win. we can all agree, i'm sure this, no one wants the same destructive and violent celebration that is occurred after the giants world series win. as you said, security is tightened for today. in fact, it already is. we saw some police and chp presence out on the roads this morning at this very early hour. police chief greg suhr tells us he has twice as many officers scheduled to be out today compared with a typical sunday. muni is even taking precautions, choosing to run diesel buses that can be quickly rerouted so they don't get trapped and ruined in destructive celebrations as they did after the world series. beginning at 5:00 this evening all bussus market street will be detour. most will switch to mission or vanex. the just in note, all these trends aren't to get in the way of potential celebrations, city leaders just want everyone to do it responsibly. >> niner fans, too. we don't want to arrest anybody. we want everybody to have a blast

inland at 36 and low 40's for the rest of us this morning. headed to noon, a lot of sunshine and low-to-mid 50's 60's and the mid-to-upper 60's around 4:00. not too bad in the evening, mostly clear and upper 40's to low 50's. we have rain in the forecast tomorrow, especially in the morning hours, and let to mid 50's and scattered showers for friday and dry and warmer on saturday. kristen and eric? >> 6:14. happening today in washington, dc, secretary of state john kerry will be sworn in to office today. vice president biden will give the oath. john kerry started on monday where he received a warm welcome. he succeeded secretary of state, hillary clinton, the former massachusetts senator says protecting american diplomats is a top priority. president obama is headed to israel this spring, meeting with prime minister binyamin netanyahu, in the first trip to the country as president. the white house says the president will also visit the west bank and jordan. white house press secretary carney says that the two leaders will discuss several issues including the threats posed by iran and

. abc7 news reporter joins us live from concord with what we are lending about the boy. katy? >> beverly the fact that he is 14, police are only confirming he attends a nearby school. but he could go to mount diabolo high school just down the street from the scene of the accident at grant street. the accident happened about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. we have this video and you can see the police working in the intersection where the boy was hit. yesterday was actually a school holiday so it is unclear why he was in the area of his school. we know he was in a crosswalk. the driver who hit him did stop and is cooperating with police and the investigation the boy suffered life-threatening internal injuries. he is in critical condition at last check. i talked with the police department and they could not give me an update and i reached out to oakland children's hospital where he was transferred after being taken to john muir hospital. i have not heard back from either on the boy's condition. this intersection, locals know, is dangerous. you can see when you look at it, it is clearly marked wi

. they will be okay. a neighbor told us he was woken up by the fire and his neighbor, a mother, wags calling desperately for help. >> i heard like mommy, mommy, and then the house just went like boom like after i got my dogs out -- after i got my dog out. but pretty much what happened was the lead whose -- the young girl who died, who was ten years old, her mother knocked on our neighbor's door and our neighbor knocked on our door to alert us. but pretty much the lead was mad because she couldn't get upstairs to her daughter. >> crews contained the fire in about two hours. they are still on scene investigating what ignited the fire. dozens of neighbors in adjoining apartments are displaced this morning. the red cross is here helping to provide them with shelter and food for the next couple days. reporting live in treasure island, kira klapper, abc7 news. >> kira, thank you. it's certainly been a strange 30 hours for things coming out of says. you have the giant astroid that came close to earth. the meteor that hit russia and just last night a meteor streaked through our sky. a lot of people

the year from january 1 to yesterday most of us it is the dryest it has ever been. the one area that is seeing the most rain is livermore and downtown san francisco where it is the third and 5th driest start ever to a year. we need the rain. nothing out there good for the commute. we will talk about the forecast. we have cool spots around bay at 340 to 45 in san francisco at 7:00, and mild during the lunch hour, and 50 to 54 and temperatures are close to average with sunshine, and upper 50's to low 60's at 4:00 and fall back in the low 50's. frost inland, and around 50 to 55 at noon and 58 to 62 with sunshine this afternoon and temperatures are close to average. headed to the coast it is breezy this morning, and temperatures are around 37 to 41. you will be in the low-to-mid 50's around noon and mid-to-upper 50's at 4:00 and it will not be so breezy. sue? >> we go back to albany, eastbound, 580 a car off on the shoulder and no delays here and you make your way to the richard san rafael bridge westbound, two left lanes are blocked at toll lazy for maintenance work and that will s
